Tracking - "Track and Sign"

Sunday, April 29th

"Track and sign" is the basic identification marks left behind by an animal. This course is a great way to learn what animals can be in your own back-yard or in the area you live in!

In this workshop, we will be out in the field identifying basic track and sign of our local wildlife population.

We will meet in Silt at 12:00 p.m. and caravan our vehicles to the location.

This course may last between 4-5 hours.

Tracking - "Tracking history and basic concepts"

In this workshop, learn the history and the basic fundamentals to tracking. Subjects will include: Track ID, foot morphology, gate patterns, and finally the different types of substrate. This will be a classroom only workshop with powerpoint and lectures from CWWW team members.

The location for this course has yet to be determined. Event is from 3pm to 6pm.

tracking - "trailing"

Trailing is the basic skill in identifying and following a track to it's creator. In this workshop, we will be out in the field attempting to locate fresh tracks to follow. We might just see the animal!

We will be meeting in Rifle at 12:00 p.m.

This course may run 4-5 hours.
